And Find Out What Else is New on This New Car for Sale

An ideal family hauler, the 2022 Ford Expedition is a large SUV with plenty of space and seating for up to seven or eight people, depending on the interior features you choose.

That means your kids don’t even have to sit near enough to be able to annoy each other, and let’s be honest, that’s one fewer headache for you as you drive down the open road en route to your vacation – or soccer practice.

For the new model year, the Blue Oval is adding some gorgeous new exterior colors and making a few important changes to the latest Expedition. You’ll want to know the highlights before you head to your Oklahoma Ford dealer to shop for one or place your order on the Zeck Ford OKC website to get one built just for you.

Four New Car Colors from Ford

The 2022 Ford Expedition is available in four all-new colors:

  • Dark Matter Metallic, a shiny dark gray
  • Infinite Blue Metallic, a deep navy gray
  • Forged Green Metallic, a dark, moody green
  • Stone Blue Metallic, a steely graphite gray-blue

These new hues join Star White Metallic, Rapid Red Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic, Agate Black Metallic, and Oxford White as options for Ford’s large SUV this model year.

New Ford Expedition Packages

Fans of the Ford Expedition will want to know that two new packages will be available for the 2022 model year, the first of which is an off-road Expedition Timberline and a Stealth Edition Performance package.

The Timberline has been called the most capable version of the Expedition, with the highest ground clearance in its class and unique styling elements, including Active Orange accents. The Timberline also comes equipped with exclusive wheels, 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires, and a wider track. It’s powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 H.O., delivering 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The twin-turbo uses a two-speed transfer case, all protected with the same underbody shielding as the F-150 Raptor.

The Stealth Performance package creates a put-together, sleek version of the beloved Expedition, including a gloss-black grille, mirror caps, running boards, rear bumper skid plate, roof rails, fog lamp bezels, headlamp and taillamp housings, and tailgate applique. Even the badges are in the same sleek black hue, accompanied with 22-inch premium black aluminum wheels and red brake calipers. Under the hood, you’ll find a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, just like the Timberline’s. A lower, sport-tuned suspension and optional 360-degree surround sound system complete the ensemble.

Ford also added new front and rear fascias and made interior improvements to the Expedition, including adding a massive, vertically oriented infotainment touchscreen, bringing Ford Motor Company into the modern era with style.

But Ford also has temporarily removed certain features due to the ongoing chip shortage issues; they plan to begin installing them again once it subsides.

These include removing Active Park Assist 2.0, offering a multicontour seat delete option, removing second-row climate controls and heated seats, and offering an auto stop/start removal option. The goal with these changes is to speed up production so car buyers can get their custom-ordered Ford SUVs more quickly.

If these are deal breakers for you, you may want to wait before buying a brand-new 2022 Ford Expedition. (Or, you might want to look at other great used cars or new cars for sale here at Zeck Ford OKC instead, at least until the chip shortage is over.)
